Neuro-Ophthalmology is a subspecialty concerned with symptoms and syndromes that may present to either Neurology or Ophthalmology but requires the skills and expertise of each to best understand and manage them.

Neuro-Ophthalmologists are interested in problems with the pupil, to the retinal ganglion cell layer, the extraocular muscles, through the optic nerve, optic chiasm and the cranial nerves, the brain stem and visual cortexas well as problems with cerebrospinal fluid pressures including idiopathic intracranial hypertension and more holistic issues including functional visual loss.
